Volunteers needed for Isaiah House Cold Weather Shelter
Would you consider helping our homeless friends stay warm for a night?
The winter months in Laconia can be deadly cold. Our emergency cold weather shelter provides a warm bed for those in need. The shelter is open from December 1st through March 31st, 7 nights a week. But we can only open if we have 2 volunteers/night willing to supervise our friends from 7:30pm-8:00am. Would you consider sacrificing one night a month or a week to help those in need? For more information contact: Dawn Longval at 603-305-6741.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program
Each year volunteers for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) prepare hundreds of tax returns for free at no cost to area residents with income levels below $60,000. Low and moderate-income individuals and families avoid costly tax preparation fees and claim helpful tax credits with this free service. To prepare the hundreds of returns that we do, the Laconia VITA site needs Intake Specialist and Tax Preparers for the upcoming tax season. You do not need to have previous tax or finance experience, as training is provided. You just need a willingness to learn, and can volunteer a few hours a week or every other week from late January to Mid April. Please contact Cathy Dumais at [email protected] if you would like to volunteer or would like more information about the program.

Celebrate the "Way of Light"
All are welcome to join the Knights this Wednesday, May 3, at 6:00 PM in church for a celebration of the Via Lucis, the “Way of Light.” Also known as the “Stations of the Resurrection,” this service complements the Way of the Cross we prayed during Lent. The 14 stations recall appearances of the Risen Christ as recorded in the New Testament. There’s no single text for these stations and we’ve combined and adapted from several versions for this event of prayer and reflection during the Easter Season.

Dear Parishioners,
We need your help with our Parish Deficit!!!
Our fiscal year ends on June 30, 2021. In each week's bulletin, we print the amount needed in our offertory to make each week's budget. This year we needed $4,038.00 each week in order to operate out Parish. As of June 11th, we have reached an offertory deficit of $8,836.46. If you can make any extra donations toward our deficit, it would be greatly appreciated.
Fiscal Year 2022 begins on July 1, 2021. The Finance Council hand I have worked very hard on next year's budget and have cut expenses as much as we can. The cost of utilities and insurances, as well as our monthly assessments to the diocese have all increased. Beginning July 1st, the new weekly offertory budget amount needed will be $5,060.00. We would appreciate any additional amount you can give each week to reach our offertory goal.
On behalf of the Finance Council and myself, we thank you for your continued support of our Parish.
God bless,
Fr. Marc

VITA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The IRS and our local partner Granite United Way need more volunteers to help prepare free tax returns at our Laconia site for the upcoming filing season. For over 50 years, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) sites have offered tax prep for low- to moderate-income taxpayers. No experience is necessary as training is provided to become an IRS certified volunteer preparer. We also need individuals who serve as greeters. A commitment of at least 3 hours a week during tax season, and the willingness to learn and grow with fellow volunteers is all that is needed. If you would like to help your community, please contact Cathy at 603-528-4295, or [email protected]
